Waiting at the monument is about a time honoured tradition amongst the folk of Newcastle. First we see the base of Grey’s Monument a marker since the 1830’s acting as beacon to all who know it. Next we have a figure who is potentially arranging to meet friends or lover at the monument. He’s looking and waiting whilst everyone else is hurrying on their way. You can see a woman trying to protect herself with her coat from the rain and an umbrella being used further on in the distance. Shop lights sillhouete pedestrians all of whom are going somewhere. The last element and a new and sadly fleeting edition to the waiting game is the mobike, waiting for its next ride and keeping the figure company whilst time moves on
