"Urban VIew V" is a continuation of my graffiti scenes. This is a slight diversion from the city centre itself and a look at the vibrant Ouseburn. I love this vibrant part of town which has a long history. One of the views of this part of town can be seen in the opening credits to the "Likely Lads" a wonderful TV Series from the 60s and 70s. With my painting I was taken by the strong line of the Metro bridge coming from Byker and heading to town. With "Urban View IV" It included a padlocked gate, restricting human interaction, but the gate is open in this painting alowing a garden to flourish and human activity to thrive. oil on canvas 1.09m x 1.09m framed in a white tray frame.
