The Tyne Bridge is a traditional scene in many paintings of Newcastle and I painted this picture to not only show the atmosphere of the Quayside at night but to try and get the viewer into the scene. I wanted them to walk along the quay edge and sense their space. Lights and reflections play an important role in my work and the indication of light helps the viewer paint the picture in their own mind.
