If you ask me who are my influences in art then one of my many answers would be Edward Hopper. A twentieth century American artist with an interesting take on his subject matter. This painting is inspired by Hoppers Early Sunday Morning painting where the elevation of the street is his subject matter. I have taken this idea and brought it to Newcastle and in particular the Stack. What ties the two paintings is the barbers totem which give you the only indication of what one of the shops were.
