I have tried to make this painting work on a couple of levels. Called See Me! its about how we look at life in the city. We can wander around looking at its spleandour and in this instance its a view of the Tyne Bridge set bright against the shadows of a street. We see it! but the dark side of this painting is how we try not to see the homeless person abandoned in the shadows almost melting into pavement. We then have the 4 by 4 with a parking ticket on the windscreen. What price that fine for careless parking and how much would that lonely figure benfit from the cost of the fine.
