This original oil painting 1m x 0.5m is an iconic view of Hadrians Wall.
The Roman fort of Housesteads lies behind the mound of trees in the mid ground. The Northumberland countryside open and harsh but beautifull too surrounds the viewer with the remnants of the wall providing some shelter against the wind.
