I split my time between studio based work and out in the field. This en plein air work is an immediate form of painting where time and weather are against you. Time stands still but the scene constantly changes and capturing the moment is the challenge. This painting by Conniston was a peaceful mornings work with the mist shrouding the distant hills. People were slowly coming to the water for a day of pleasure. My pleasure was less active but certainly intense and hopefully the moment captured.
