So glad to have finished this commission of the @TynesideCinema . When I was asked to produce this painting my imagination was fired by not only the challenge in front of me but by my memories of youth. When I was at art college we would go for coffees in the Art Deco surroundings. I remember there was a large print of James Dean walking through the streets of New York in the rain. Those dark winter nights were magical and the world was there for the taking. Not forgetting seeing many a film like Betty Blue (we hey!), la Reine Margot and Last Tango in Paris.
I have waited patiently for the dark wet winter nights to arrive and was out like a shot cock when it happened. The result is a happy client and I'm so pleased they like it.
I will have limited edition prints of this painting available soon (an ideal Christmas present me think)
