Low Lights at Night

Here is my latest offering its oil on board 810mm by 405mm and is of the Low Lights at North Shields Fish Quay. Its another lesson in trying not to paint too much detail and letting light and marks tell the story. I like how negative light can be just as dramatic as positive light with absolutely nothing painted in the foreground but giving the impression you are standing on the Quay. There is an indication of the Shite Hawks flying around looking for scraps from the fishing boats.

If you would like to see my work in the flesh and you live in the NorthEast you can visit the #NorthEastArtCollective in Eldon Garden Newcastle or come to my stall at Tynemouth Market on Sundays. Message me if you want more information on any of my work.
